Writing from the Heart!

Students explored the writing process by identifying people, places, ideas, or things that are important to them. Their Heart Maps will be placed inside their "Ideas" section of their writing notebook.
Sometimes during writing, I will have students use different sections of their heart maps to craft a story on paper or their I-Pad. They will be encouraged to pick a handful of ideas, people, or places from their map, and incorporate them into a story. Or, I may have them start with one person, place, or memory, and build off of it.
